How To Make The Inside Of Your Property Feel Summery
Hasn’t it been a great start to the summer! Well, technically, it isn’t quite summer yet, but it has certainly felt like it is, and we hope our good run of weather continues for a while yet.
Our recommendation would be to get outside as often as you can and enjoy it, but we understand that’s not always possible, particularly if you’re one of the many people still working from home.
But you don’t have to miss out on that summer feeling whilst indoors. You can always take steps to invite it into your house.
If that sounds complicated, trust us, it really isn’t! Let us explain:
Clean your windows
This is the simplest of all our suggestions and can be done in a matter of minutes – just clean your windows.
Make sure that they get a good scrub internally and externally on a frequent basis, until you can clearly see your face in them, or if you don’t have time to do that, pay the window cleaner to do it.
It’s also worth taking down any thick curtains for the summer, and also getting energy efficient windows fitted so that you don’t experience any overheating issues.
Install bi-folding doors
Could you integrate a bi-folding door into a rear wall, whether there’s enough space for just a 2-pane design or full 7-pane bi fold?
There is so much glass in a bi-folding door that it will illuminate the relevant room beyond belief, and even more so when you fully fold the door to one side like a concertina to create an unrestricted gap.
Any opening that you create with a bi-folding door will also bring in a nice, cool breeze, perfect for those exceptionally hot days.
Add some nature
Summer is a time when you want to get close to nature, but that’s difficult if you don’t own a garden and don’t have a local park you can travel to.
Overcome that by buying houseplants for your home that you can put display on various countertops, tables and floors. Typically, the most popular types of houseplants are succulents, ferns and orchids.
You may not know that houseplants are good for your health. How? They rid your indoor air of pollutants, making it cleaner, and houseplants are known to help ease stress and also increase happiness.
