How To Enhance Energy Efficiency In Your Home

The most pressing issue for Britain’s last Prime Minister, Liz Truss, was to somehow find a solution for the rising energy bills of homeowners.

Within days of taking office, she announced that she would be put a freeze on the energy price cap, so that it will remain at the figure of £2,500 a year, which it will do for the next two years.

It will help householders somewhat, but most people will have been hoping for more, as many have seen their annual energy bills double in price in a very short space of time.

Take matters into your own hands and be more energy conscious at home to save money. Here’s some energy-saving advice from County that you can employ.

Shorten your showers

You only need to cut your showers by two minutes each time that you take one to make a welcome saving on energy.

If you find it difficult to drag yourself out of the shower and have a tendency to stay under for too long, the best thing to do is to set a timer and get out as soon as it goes off. Anyway, it’s not good for your skin to be in the shower for too long, as 5 to 10 minutes is the recommended showering time.

Put wet clothes on the washing line

This summer has been so dry, one of the most wet-free summers that we’ve ever had. If we don’t get too much rain in autumn and winter and it’s ever quite warm, use your washing line as much as possible.

It wouldn’t make sense to dry wet clothes on your radiators or in the tumble dryer on a pleasant day, because doing so will cost you, and they both result in moisture building up, a common cause of condensation on windows.
