It’s amazing how County can extend a property when it seems an impossible task, but that’s just what we do..
Stepping back from this property, you’d be forgiven for thinking this particular extension is insignificant. Take a few steps closer, and you’ll be able to see just how deep this build really is. Surely, it must be small inside? Wrong.
Slide the bi-fold doors open with ease and be amazed at the space within – you’ll find a neat interior big enough to house the important pieces of furniture like a coffee table, couch and sideboard.
While the footprint of this extension is on the smaller side, there were a few things County did to improve the feel of the place. We engineered a higher than normal pitched roof to give a more spacious feel thanks to tall ceilings, and added top quality roof windows to ensure natural light flooded in.
The result is a compact yet light and airy space that is popular with the occupants during the night time just as much as during the day. Newly installed downlighters add a touch of elegance to the space, while spotlights helped to illuminate darker corners.
To ensure this extension blended seamlessly with the existing building, the team at County selected a roofing system and brickwork that complimented the style of the original building, making it virtually impossible to tell the newly added section from the original structure.
Finally, thermally treated glass was used throughout the build so that the family at County could enjoy this neat space no matter the weather outside.
