At County all of our windows come with self-cleaning active glass as standard, or they can be upgraded to Celsius glass for further improved heat reflection in summer and heat retention in winter.

It was the design team at Bygone Collection that assisted BSI (British Standards Instituion) in formalising the standards to which all sash windows should comply. Therefore it was a Bygone window that was the first sash window of any material to pass BS 9750, the predecessor to PAS24 in 2006. Shortly after this, the windows obtained the police preferred Secured by Design endorsement.

Bygone collection uses this specification for its entry level Melody windows. In the Harmony and Symphony ranges, the glazing is 18mm glass, within a narrower gap filled with krypton. As well as giving a slimmer profile, this allows for the deeper Ovolo internal bead and a Georgian bar on the inside of the window.

Unlike our other windows, we don’t offer a triple glazing option on sash windows, for the simple reason that there isn’t room to fit an extra pane of glass and retain the traditional slim frame and beading. Instead, Bygone ensures its double glazed units always offer the very highest levels of thermal efficiency.

You can choose your Bygone windows with or without a grained appearance, and in a huge number of ‘closest colour matched’ paint options from standard industry charts, we can even colour match to Farrow & Ball if you wish. You can have different colours on the inside and outside of your windows, cleverly applied so that only one colour is visible from either side when the window is closed. We can also supply your sashes and frames in different colours. For example, a black frame with white sashes is a popular choice, we’ve also created combinations of blue and white, and cream and maroon.

Our paint is specially formulated to be hard wearing and avoid fading, so should never need repainting. Please note that standard household paints should never be used for painting UPVC surfaces.

Bygone collection has a range of window furniture that suits your property and your individual taste. All Bygone windows come with two scroll handles and a single ring pull for the upper sash. Larger heavier windows may required bar handles to aid window operations.

All furniture comes in a variety of colours including antique brass, chrome, pewter, satin chrome and black.
